On Christmas, of course, meals have to be factored in with the family and presents.
I had two large meals -- one at Papa's and the other at Neena's. They both were quite tastiful.
At Papa's, I loaded an odd square plate with ham, broccoli-rice casserole, sausage warp biscuits (or something), 7-up salad (w/no cheese!!), rolls, hash brown casserole, carrots with ranch dip, mashed potatoes, and diet cola. Actually, the diet cola was in a cup and not on the plate. That would've been gross. Following a few magic tricks with the classic cups and balls, I enjoyed some fudge pie, chocolate chess pie, white coconut cake, peanut butter balls, peanuts, cashews, almonds, and some kind of peanutty chess brownie bar thing. I didn't really care for that last thing. Bleck. Of course, I drank heavily all afternoon, but nothing stronger than Diet Dr. Pepper.
From Papa's, we moved northeast to Gallatin where Neena had prepared our Christmas dinner. Ham made it to my plate again, as did broccoli-cheese casserole and rolls. Green beans were there, so I ate some. I also had some mashed potato casserole with bacon bits and stuff on top of it. Everything was quite edible and tasty. We had no cakes or pies after presents; instead, she had made some trifle out of cherry preserves, walnuts, other things, and ladyfingers. I ate my portion. Then, I ate Aidan's after he decided that one lick was all he wanted. Then, I ate Savannah's after she abandoned it. Then, I ate what was left of Silas's after he picked out the cherries. Then, I ate Silas's second helping after he picked out the cherries. Grrr.
Anyway, after we rolled home in the van, I somehow managed to drink spiced cider and gorge myself with popcorn. Happy holidays indeed. :-)
